How to enable iAd or My Ads (In-house Ads)

There are many ways to make money with your apps and monetization is the easiest from the variety of tools. Adding Ads in your mobile application became something usual and most of times, very profitable. This type of advertising is most commonly seen as a Mobile Web Banner (top of page) or Mobile Web Poster (bottom of page banner).

SeattleCloud supports the following monetization systems:

- AdMob

- RevMob

- iAd

- Pollfish

- SeattleCloud Ads(In-house Ads)

In this tutorial you will find information how to enable iAd and In-house Ads only.

1) How to enable Ads in your app

To enable Ads in your created app you must choose the desired Ad service and Ad position from the Page Settings section page.  If you select an ad in "Global Application Setting" , the option will create ads spaces within the whole application on the top and bottom of each available page. Also, you can select the position and pages where to display ads in the Page Settings -> Banner Ads.

2) Ad Services

AdMob by Google

You can find detailed instructions for AdMob in the tutorial.

iAds by Apple

Similar to AdMob, iAd facilitates integrating advertisements into applications sold on the App Store.

You can find detailed instructions for iAd in the tutorial.

My Ads (House Ads)

You can use My Ads to run self-promotional Ad campaigns on your media outlets. Also it can be used to promote your business partners that have an Ad contract with you.

The house ad creation process follows many of the same steps as creating a regular ad campaign of AdMob.

If you’ve ever set up an ad campaign, setting up a house ad campaign will be very familiar. Find more information in this tutorial.

Thanks for the tutorial.  Great job.  Do the banners rotate on every click or is it a certain "time" they rotate.  I test a few out on my app under the SC app and it only seems one appears.  Maybe I am too impatient but was just wondering.  Other than that, again great job on the easy to understand tutorial.

Update:  Seems to possibly be on a 30 second rotation instead of every other click thru.  Hope this answers a few questions.

For iOS, Ads rotating time is set to 30 seconds by default.

For Android, Ads are rotating at every click through or after 30 seconds.

I have created a test House Ad and placed it in my In Design app.  Do I need to have an offical subscription in order to see the House Ad in my SC previewer?

You do not need a subscription for House Ads.

You will need one for submitting your app to iTunes/ Google Play Store (Android Market)

When tapping on the served ad image, it should take you to the url you provided, correct?

Yes Chad, you are right.

I have created a test house ad and it is not showing up in the SC previewer.  I have made sure that ads are enabled and set to "SC ad" in the page settings.

Hi, John

These ads should work on SC Previewer. Please make sure that you have the latest previewer version and if this issue persist, please consider to open a support ticket with full description of this issue.

Thank you,

Hi Aurel,

I have enabled SC ad banners on my app and designated the pages I wish to view them (top or bottom). However when I open an RSS feed and click through to the content of a feed item the banner posts both on top and bottom of the page. The Page settings menu doesn't have a listing for my RSS feed Item page, it lists the feed page just not the page displaying content for each post. How can I remove the banners from that content page? Or remove one banner even?

Can you use sc house ads in your app if you have bought your app for the one time fee of $249? Or, do you need an active subscription to use sc house ads?

Hi, Chad

Yes, you can use SC Ads for displaying your own ads on purchased app from us.

Best regards,

When in Admob Publisher ID, I get this message but it still gives me an ID. Please explain this message and what I need to do.

"This app requires an AdMob SDK that was released on or after March 15, 2011. Please download the latest version of the AdMob SDK before making ad requests with this app"

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Liza

Our developers already implemented these requirements some time ago.

But, if your build was released before 2012 please reorder it for avoiding any issue.

Best regards and thank you for your feedback,

How much revenue will I make from having SC ads or AdMob banner ads?.. Is it based on a price per click on the ad, or per view or is it a set price per person who downloads the app??? I'm trying to work out some financial projections for creating an app but having trouble finding any info on revenue from banner ads on free apps...

Hi, Lewis

SC Ads are House Ads. You set/negotiate with your partners/customers the price for the ads which will be displayed in your app.

As for AdMob, contact AdMob support team.
