Hello, Marcello

GeoFence (Wikipedia): A geo-fence is a virtual perimeter for a real-world geographic areas. A geo-fence could be dynamically generated—as in a radius around a store or point location. When the location-aware device of a location-based service (LBS) user enters or exits a geo-fence, the device receives a generated notification. This notification might contain information about the location of the device.

Using our GeoFence service you'll be able to send notifications to app users based on their current location.

Best regards,
Aurel

Is there a way to send different entry and exit messages depending if they are entering or exiting the GeoFence zone?
Hello, Ken

Our GeoFence feature is working only when the device enters in the perimeter. No messages yet on exits.

Aurel
Thank you!

Hello,

May I ask if GeoFences is working 100% on Android?

As I've tried and found it crashes every time I open the app.

Thanks,
Seree
Hello, Seree

Yes this feature is working as expected.

Please make sure to have a recent binary build in order to use this feature.

Regards.

What is this page type called?

John
Hi, John

This is not a page type. This is a new menu section in App Dashboard.

If you set up a geofence for say a shop.... will you get a message every time you leave and enter the geofence?
You'll get the message every time you'll enter the geofence area.

In order for this to work, do we need to submit another binary after enabling it to the app store?  Or does it work already?
Hello,

You need a new app build.

Could be a way to set this on geofences:
-The user just receive one time each message configured by us.
- Avoid closing the app (by force) when a message is coming and the user is on the range.
I have the same question - if a store has my app - and little johnny passed by it 5 times a day we don't want it to msg 5 times a day - how do we get around this?

Hi Guys
Just wondering where a geofence push notification goes after initial download. On our app, once the push notification appears on the home screen, it can only be viewed once and then it vanishes. Is there a storage place (page) that can be added to the app, so that the notification can be viewed later. It doesn't show up in the push notification page. Thanks

Best Regards
Rick
Hello Rick,

A "storage" page for the GeoFence messages is not yet available.

Aurel

I'm assuming the Geofence only will work if the user have the App running? Im looking for a way to let the user know that my App is available for download on a particular geofence area ( in my case, a shopping Mall)
I can see apple have an "around me App" but I dont know how to activate that on the App store or Inside the App, maybe the geofence feature will do that that's why I'm asking.
Thank you in advance for any simple explanation.

Hello Claudio. Actually this was an iOS issue and it has been fixed with the iOS 8.

Hi Aurel,

Any new features in the pipeline for the Geofence announcements? A storage page for announcements would be a good start, and then an ability to add a link so that when they are swiped or touched they would take the user directly to a page or tab on the app (like a details page, a coupon, a podcast or whatever) would be a great asset. Thanks Aurel, keep up the good work!

Best Regards
Rick
