I've seen this question posted for several years now -

We want to create a free app that only users who have purchased a product via our website can gain access/make app active via a login using credentials created on website. Has anyone found a way to automate porting over user credentials from their site when they make a specific product purchase? Thanks in advance!

Alternatively presented: we are looking for a solutions whereby someone purchases [a product or membership] from our site - the result gives them access to a mobile app - to unlock the app they would need to enter their user credentials or maybe a one-time use code. We would like to have whichever solution is suggested to be automated with the app so that they make the purchase, get the code or their credentials and automatically that info is synced to the app.

Has anyone an idea of how this can be achieved??

I am using a Wordpress site to run the membership part of the app.

Hi Levar,

Thanks - how have you set up the app so that the membership credentials pass though to the app? have you set up an automated process to connect the app to their Wordpress credentials?

Any details you can provide would be extremely helpful.

Geoff....just buy a membership plugin or a plugin that puts your product or page behind a wall so that someone buys it and is redirected to the product or is issued with a username and password for your membership part of the Wordpress website.

To do anything database wise with an App will cost you a fortune...

thanks Aidan,

How do you tie someone's membership credentials to the App is more my question. Like with SeattleCloud app, the app is free, but unless you login with the username and password you set up on the website, you can't do anything with it.

From what I understand, the app will be visible in Google Play or iTunes - so installing it can't be blocked, right? Just blocking access to the content, via forcing them to put in credentials. Is there another step to take here?

How do you solve this question, or am I missing something here?
