Seattle Clouds: Why are you destroying my life?

A few years back I bought an account from one of your official re sellers. I admit, it was one hell of a bargain: $100 to make unlimited apps. I did not buy that account from a con artist, a criminal, a fraud or anything else. That person was your official re seller and had every right to sell me that account at his price.

So I started a small business and over the years I have created 956 apps for various clients. I did not make a fortune, but I started a living and started a family.

A new owner bought Seattle Clouds. You noticed that some of your re sellers are making more damage to you than profit, so you terminated them. Honestly, it was Seattle Clouds' fault to make such re selling plans to begin with, but that is not my point. Me, personally, I did nothing wrong or illegal.

My point is: Today I received an email that my 956 apps are going to be terminated if I don't pay you, Seattle Clouds, $500 per month for a "white label program". I can't afford that even if I sell my house.

Are you aware that out of those 956 clients at least 100 of them are going to sue me, and I am going to end up in court and in jail? 100. Let's make it 50 or 20.

Why can't you just leave the old apps be.

I have already paid for my apps. How many times do I need to pay you? How much today? How much tomorrow? Why are you doing this?

I am talking about court and jail for me. I have family. I have kids.

I will probably kill myself to save my family from the debts you will put me in.

But before I kill myself I am going to leave a note to make sure all public media knows why. I am going to make sure people around the world know that Seattle Clouds destroyed my life.

You may delete this topic, to hide yourself here. But you can't hide from the internet. Believe me, 956 clients, and thousands of contacts, I have a badass network.

If nothing else, at least people will know the truth about you.

Hi Stefan,

I'm so sorry that you are having such a hard time.  I hope that you will find an answer to your problems soon.

May I suggest that you are proactive in managing your customers and be very open and honest with them. It may be that if you explain clearly to them that your supplier is to close and therefore you are unable to continue to offer them your services that they will be more understanding than you first imagined.

Have you built apps for a one off price or a very low price? Again, maybe you can remind your customers that they have had an amazing deal.  Let them know how much an app should really cost.  You may find that they understand your situation especially as they are in business themselves and they realise that these things happen in business.

Try composing an email to your customers that explains the situation, including the financial figures, and gives a simple, honest apology.  See what the response is and, if you get some positive replies, maybe you could set up a new business using a different pricing model and help your customers and yourself to a better future.

I truly hope that this helps you.

Kind regards,

Hi, John.

I wrote emails to my clients.

None of them agreed to pay once again for apps they paid once.

And I don't blame them. It is the same way I feel about you.

You hold the apps as hostages and you blackmail us.

Tell me, if this year I need to pay you $500 per month, how much will you ask next year?

It is how you do things.

I paid you once, I am not going to pay you again. I did nothing wrong.

If you still intend to remain a normal business company you can start with sticking to your part of the agreement. Let the old apps be. Start charging more for new apps. It is how everyone else does business.

Otherwise you will get an ocean of angry clients in these forums. But I suppose you will close the forum, right?

Hey Stefan,
You signed up on a whitelabel which violated the reseller rights by further reselling reseller rights at such cheap price. Just to give u an estimate: I also bought 1000 licenses from a reseller for only $1000 which allowed unlimited apps per month and i sold plenty of licenses at $37 lifetime to others

How will u feel if someone is ripping u like this? You will feel the same way seattle clouds felt . This is a great move by SC and will get rid of unnecessarly clutter in the industry.

PS: The resellers are already offering new app builders, why not use them to create your apps again? There is no point in coming here and crying because what the resellers did was absolutely disgusting and this was a long awaited action.
Kudos to SC for taking such a bold step.

1. The reseller had every right to give them away for free if he wanted to. He had the right to set his own price. Do you understand this part?

2. I agree that it is a good idea for Seattle Clouds to start charging higher fees, and regulate re-sellers not to offer such cheap deals as it is ruining their business. Even though they did it in a very fishy way.

3. We are not talking about re-sellers here. We are talking about honest hard working people which are going to get screwed up, like me.

4. You would be crying as well if you got blackmailed like this.

Pure blackmail.

And Kudos for you to trust SC.

Just for record, I don't work for SC, I was trying to offer Stefan some practical support.

Your advice is appreciated.

But it does not change the fact that Seattle Clouds want me to pay again for something I have already paid.

What do you think prevents them from doing it to you as well?

Take backups of your apps, unzip them and u will find all the content inside and move on to similar HTML app builders and create apps there. Again, they offer unlimited apps at a fraction of the price u will be paying here.

Obviously u cannot recreate ur existing apps on those platforms but u can create apps with same content and new package name and publish them. Before publishing the new app of your clients, unpublish the previous app of that client.
Yes, it is time consuming but that is the only way u can move forward.
