GPS Coupon Tutorial

The GPS Coupon page gives a possibility for businesses to reward frequent customers with incentives for the repeat business. It works by reading the mobile phone's GPS coordinates and then the page checks for the same coordinates as the business location. When a customer accumulates enough check-ins he receives check-in incentive (i.e. free drinks, food, discount, etc.).

As a developer you can manage how many check-ins are needed to unlock an incentive and how many hours before a customer is allowed to check in once again.

In order to add a new GPS Coupon to your app, go to Edit Pages menu, then click "+" Add New Page button. From the Marketplace find GPS Coupon and click on it to add to the application.

Once the page is added to the application, you can proceed with editing it.

On the right side you will find a list of page elements that should be configured.

If the customer's current location meet at least one of the locations specified in the Location Details field (see field 11), he will get access to the coupon. If the location is different then the  specified one, Google Map page will appear with directions to the needed location.

Very nice feature!

I'm wondering if this feature can be used for multiple businesses in one app?

For example: The user installs an app that lists many shops in mall. When the user comes within range of the mall, a notification appears for each shop that has an active GPS coupon.

Or would they need to manually open multiple GPS coupon pages in the app to check all available GPS coupons?

Two enhancements to the current GPS Coupon feature I'd like to suggest.

1. Allow for setting a distance range that will be considered a valid check-in.

2. Automatically pop up a push like notification when the device is within range of a valid coupon.

Hi Andrew,

Regarding your first post - the users will need to manually open multiple GPS coupons in the App to check all available GPS coupons.

Regarding your second post - we will take into consideration your feedback. We will discuss with our developers to see if these options could be added in the future.

best regards,

hi has any progress been made with automatically sending a push or pop up when in range of a valid coupon?

Implementing such a feature would require time and work. At the moment we have other tasks which we consider more important. But we have in plan to improve this page type in the future.

best regards.

Hi Victor

I would like to strongly suggest implementing automatically sending a push or pop up when in range of a valid coupon as this is very important for business owners and would make apps selling crazy.

Thank you for consideration

Hello Joseph,

You may use the Geofences feature that we have recently implemented. For example you may set the same coordinates for the GPS coupon and for Geofences. Once a user will enter the location you have set he will receive an automatic Push Notification with the message that you have also set on the website. Here is how Geofences work:  .

I hope you will find this information helpful.

SC Team.

The previous YouTube link is private - couldn't watch it.

I am rolling out some Geo-fencing Beacons & would like to get some clear answers on whether I will be able to use my Beacons with your (Seattle Cloud's) apps.

Will I (through you) be able to implement the necessary code into the apps I create (& purchase) so that push notifications pop up when in proximity to my Beacons?

Thank you for your service, time & attention!

Here you may find a video tutorial on how Geofences work: .Geofences allow setting Automatic Push Notifications based on an area.
If you have your own code, you may use it in an iOS app by downloading its SDK Project

Is it possible to integrate iBeacons with SC?

Hello Marko,

Yes, as a Custom Module via SDK Project : Note that this would require programing skills in Objective C (Xcode).

Is it possible to set geo-fence push notification with flexible drawing polygon instead of rounded radius?

Is there a way to get some notification on GPS coupons usage? I would like to have idea how many coupons are really used... Something like loyalty have.
