We are pleased to announce the release of a new feature - Microblog.

The Microblog page type allows users to create articles (including short sentences, images or video), where you can describe feelings, to present memories and share them with someone special or to keep a live journal, day by day, on your mobile device.

The Microblog media will be automatically saved to your Dropbox account.

In order to add Microblog page to your application, access its Dashboard, go to Edit Pages menu then click "+" (Add New Page) button. You will be redirected to the Marketplace. From the list of the available page types select Microblog page then click "USE THIS PAGE TYPE" button.

Once the page is added you may proceed for further settings. The page is not editable, it works with Dropbox website.

To submit the app you will need to provide the Dropbox API Key  in App Settings - Page Specific Options.

To get the required Dropbox API Key it is necessary to have an active account on Dropbox Developers website.

There access "My apps" section and create a new app on Dropbox platform: choose an API (1), the type of access you need (2) and name of your app (3)

Then enable additional users:

Now, your app can be linked up to 500 users. If you'd like to link more than 500 users, please apply for production status.

After the app will be created, the App Key will be available on its page on the App Console.

Copy Dropbox App Key to the Page Specific Options section from application Dashboard and start the submission process.

Once the user will access the Microblog page on his device, he will be prompted to Sign in Dropbox account. Then he should allow the app to access its own folder inside the Dropbox.

To create a new article, press the ā€œ+ā€ button on Microblog page.

Then select a calendar date, add an article name (it is required), add media (select an image from photo library, take a photo or video) and write a description for it.

The video's length should not exceed 70Mb or 30 seconds for Android and 2 minutes for iOS. Then press the "Save" button.

The saved article can be edited (only title, description) or deleted by pressing 3 points from the top right corner (for iOS) or directly by typing on article name (for Android). If you didn't add any media - it can be done also at this step.

Make the necessary changes then press again "Save" button.

Now your article is ready. It can be shared by email, posted on Facebook, Wordpress, Twitter by taping on the share button:

THANK YOU FOR USING SEATTLECLOUD!

Hi Diana,
I tried this out on the latest SC previewer app and got this warning: "This page type is not included in the current version. Application needs to be updated to support this feature." I have not seen any updates to the SC previewer app in recent months so am wondering what this warning means and how do we fix it? Thanks for your help.

Best Regards
Rick

Hello Rick,

The current version of our Previewers don't include the MicroBlog Module. Our Previewers will be updated soon. As a workaround, please use AdHoc Build (for iOS) or Instant Build (for Android and Kindle) .

Best regards,
Diana

Hi Diana,
any news on the iOS app previewer? It's been a few months now since it disappeared from the Apple app store. I still have the old version on my phone but it's useless for checking out the new features and for
demonstrating the new features to clients (I mean it's so much more convenient than building an adhoc version). So, please give us an ETA on when the new Previewer will be released. Thanks Diana.

Best Regards
Rick
I'm awaiting for iOS previewer too.

Hello,

Unfortunately our iOS Previewer can't be published on App Store due to the new Apple rules - such type of applications are not accepted at the moment.

Hi Diana,

Iā€™m not sure what you mean as I see that many other app building companies like Appily, Mobi, Clublink, Dynamic Labs, Subsplash, Good Barber and so many more all have Previewer Apps fon the Apple App Store. Just do a search for Previewer on the Apple App Store and you will see.

What reason did Apple specifically give SC for removing and rejecting their previewer app?

Is the issue being resolved?

Look forward to your response Diana.

Best Regards
Rick

Still waiting for a response Diana?

Has SC resolved the Previewer publishing issue? When will you be publishing a new Previewer as it is obviously an important part of the work flow in demonstrating mobile apps to our potential clients, also for easy access to push notifications etc.

Please respond.

Best Regards
Rick
