It is possible to interactively prompt users who downloaded your app, to rate the app and write a review on the App Store.
This option will work for apps which are live on the App Store.

Before requesting a new build (update), make the following changes in the settings of your app.
From the dashboard of your app access Application Settings:

Click on Platform Specific Options - > Rate App Settings:

Enter your app's Apple ID,

Note: to find out your app's Apple ID log in to your account on / navigate to "My apps" / "More" / "About This App".

Pick the activity which will trigger the "Rate App" popup message:

- prompt at launch application, or
- at relaunch from background

You can also personalize the message encouraging user to rate/review your app. If not the following message will appear:

"If you enjoy using 'bundleAppName' , would you mind taking a moment to rate it? It won't take more than a minute. Thanks for your support!"

The popup message will look like below:

Tapping on "Rate It Now" user will be taken to "Rating section of your app" from App Store. After signing in with his/her Apple credentials user will be able to rate your app/ submit a review of your app for the App Store.

Probably silly question but after they rate that app, the system will automatically not relaunch  it rate message again I assume?

Thanks this is needed because people just don't seem to want to review your app.

As currently implemented the prompting message pops up upon every (re)launch of the app.
even if they have already rated the app in the past? are there any plans to change this? many thanks.

I found a way to have this feature activated from your first binary build instead of having to wait to submit an update to iTunes ( for folks with a dev account only ) here's how

-Build your app as normal and once finish

-Create your app ID and certificate in your Dev account
-Have all your iTunes Connects submission files & information ready ( icon, screenshots, description, keywords.

-Then Log into your iTunes Connect account and under “Manage Application“ setup your new app when your app is registered into iTunes it will give you and App ID number Copy and paste it into the SC Application Setting page in your dashboard under the Device Specific Options tab with your Message.

-Complete your app, test, make sure all is good.

-Then and only then request your build ( so the binairy will have the feature build into it from the get go )

-Now your ready to upload your app on iTunes via the Application Loader software.

- This is not huge but it saves having to wait to submit and update to have the feature running.

So in order for this feature to work you have to resubmit a new version after your first one was submitted?

Yes,  if you did not set this up as mention above or forgot. You will have to modify your app and resubmit into iTunes.

Were some changes made to this features, all my apps are set-up to prompt users to rate the app but the pop-up box doesn't appear anymore ( even before iOS 6.0 ), I hope SC is keeping this alive. It is an awesome feature that really helps boost app ranking. Can someone at SC look into this please.

Hi Joan,

We did not make any changes reagarding this feature.
I've just tested one of your live Apps and the "rate app" popup message appears as expected. If you still find this issue, please open a support ticket and we will investigate it.

best regards,
SeattleClouds Customer Support Team.
