Slide Show Page Tutorial

Another recently added page type to the available list of native pages is the "Slide Show". It is quite easy to use and it should bring some fresh look to your app.

In order to add the slide show page follow the step-by-step instructions below:

1) Go to your app's Dashboard
2) Add a new page to your app by clicking the "+" button.
3) Select the "Slideshow" page type from the available list and click "Create".
4) Now, since the page is added to your app, you may go ahead and upload the images to it. Click "Edit" button next to the newly added page.

Once you access the Slideshow page editor you will notice that by default there are no items mentioned, thus, you need to click "+" button to add an item to the list.
After adding an item to the "Gallery Images" section click "..." button to call the Resource Manager window and select the image accordingly.

Once the Resource Manager window appears, switch to "Resources" tab and show the item to be added. Thus, select the file from the list of the files and click the "Choose" button to confirm your choice.

As soon as you finish up adding the images to your app's Slideshow page, make sure to save the changes.

Below you may see how the slideshow page looks on a device after the app is built.

***Note: Currently you are not able to test the slideshow page through the SC app, but you will be able to do so as soon as the new SC app versions (both iPhone/iPod and iPad) go live at AppStore. So far, we encourage you adding this page type to your app and once it is built up you will be able to see it functioning.

Thank you,
Ethan

Hello, i really like this page type, i have some questions: Testing on the ipad app works But i can't hide the thumbnails on the lowerpage, is this possible? The latest iphone app crashes when trying to view the slideshow, will this be fixed?

Same issue here. Crashing when trying to view the slideshow. Any plans for fixing this soon?

Hello Christian and Jason,

We have resolved the issue with the slideshow page type that was causing the app crashing. Please, note that you will be able to fully test the page as soon as the next SC app goes live. However, you may definitely request builds for your apps and once ready, the end user will not experience any crashes with the slideshow page.

Christian, there is no possibility to hide the thumbnails displayed in a slideshow page as it was initially designed to show those. However, if it is crucial for you to have this option enabled, please, open a support ticket for further assistance.

Thank you,
Ethan

Ethan:

Do I need to rebuild that page? Because, as it stands, it's still crashing on the phone.

Thanks for all you guys do...

Jason

Hello Jason,

You may simply access the slideshow page within your app and click on "Convert" button. There, select the same page type Slideshow and confirm.

In case you request a new build for your app, this page type will work perfectly now. Although you are not able to fully test it via SC app until the latest version goes live at AppStore.

Thank you,
Ethan

Will this work on Droid as well?

Hello Rich,

The Slideshow page type is currently unavailable for Android platform based apps. However, we have already placed the implementation of this feature for Android on our To-Do list.

Thank you,
Ethan

Do you have a ETA?  Or how long once it is placed on your list to it typically is ready to use?

Hello Rich,

I regret to inform you that we cannot provide you with an estimated time frame upon when this feature would become available for using it within Android based platform apps. However, in case it is crucial for you to have it available, I would kindly ask you to open a support ticket with us for further assistance.

Best regards,
Ethan
