SeattleCloud's applications are able to send SMS messages from inside the app. Unfortunately, SMS page type works only on smartphones - the devices that have native support for short message service. iOS platform support starts with version 4.0.

To add an SMS page to your application go to its Dashboard → Edit Pages → + Add New Page. This will take you to SeattleCloud's Marketplace where you may find features to your app.

Select the SMS page type and click "Use this Page Type".

The editor of SMS page type essentially has two specific options: Number, and Message input fields.

The values of Number and Message input fields will automatically travel to the SMS screen which I'm sure you are familiar with. User, of course, will be able to edit these values.

Hi guys

I have a gate that opens via sms - and would like to have an ikon on my iphone that automaticly sends the code to open the gate - a simpel one click ikon that creates the sms, with the code and sends it to a number (allways the same code and number) what to do?

Thanks

Hi Jens,

Our SMS page type will not provide such functionality since sending an SMS should be explicit to the end users, but you can set this up using PhoneGap page type.

I just tried creating this page for an iPad and iPhone app and both gave me the error "This page type is not supported on your version of iOS."

Your information on this page states it works on version 4.0 or higher. I am well past version 4 on both devices. Please advise on this error.

Thanks in advance.
I had the same problem with ios7 . Did you find a resolve for this? Thanks

Also do we have to have a membership area so the members are named in the app.  How do we do this?  OR, does it just get sent to the app and stay in the app and anyone can read.  This is say if someone says they need a ride to xx and xx event they can post it.  Thanks

Hello Nancy,

The "Number" field will preset cell phone number to which the SMS will be sent, although users of your app will be able to change it.

Regarding Membership Areas template: yes, you can add an SMS page for each area and populate them with different data.

I have included SMS page to my desinged app but it does not work both in android (4.4.2) and iPhone (iOS 8.3). But in both platform it does not work and shows the default preview page image! Is SMS page outdated now? Any possible solution will be appreciated.
