                             Media List Page Type Tutorial

One of the most amazing features that we have recently added is the Media List Page type. This page allows downloading media files from our server directly in the Application on the device.

In order to add a new Media List Page to your app, go to Edit Pages menu then click the "+" (Add New Page) button. From the list of the page types available select Media List Page and click the "Create" button.

Once the page is added you may proceed with editing it.

In the Edit Mode of the page you can edit the following settings:

1) Set the number of media files.

2) Add an image for every media file.

3) Add a title for each media file.

4) Select a media file and upload it (see the next image).

You can upload .pdf, .mp4, .mp3 or .3gp files. The limit file size is 100 MB. The files will be uploaded on our server.  Once you uploaded the file, click Ok.

*   Note that the process is the same for iOS and Android Applications.

In the Style mode you can change the background color, image and text color.

Once you are done customizing the settings in Edit Mode and Style mode, you may preview the page on a device using the SeattleClouds App Previewer. Since this is a native pageit will be available for preview only in the App Previewer.

Press on the download button to download the media file

                                     iOS                                                                Android

Once the file is downloaded you may open it. In order to open the file, the device does not need to have an Internet Connection.

                                    iOS                                                                    Android

On iOS the media file will be opened with the Quick Time Player (the default player). On Android, you may choose which media player to open/play the file.

                                    iOS                                                                     Android

Note that the minimal supported iOS version is 5.0 and Android - 2.2.

When using PDF's in this page type (on ipad), after downloading, the document opens in a scrolling manner. Is there any way to download the pdf and have it open in the page-turning manner like some of your other page types? And can we pinch-zoom on these pages?

Hello,

The PDF files should be now opened exactly as in the PDF Editor or PDF reader page types.

You said The limit file size is 100 MB,  but when I upload a 30MB mp4 video, it failed and said the file size is too big. I've tried to upload many times it still failed.
oh sorry I asked the wrong question. I want to know if I put a media in HTML Letter Templates that what is limit size of the media.

Hello Su,

The file size limit for the Media List Page type is 98 MB.
The file size limit for in-App Resources (for all pages) is 50 MB. The file size limit for Cloud Resources is 400 MB .

Hi Victor,

Regarding the Media URL. Can I place a video on my own server, hosted with azure  ( or even with 1&1 ) and just replace the URL  pointing to that via domain? I have tried this, it works fine with a PDF, but not with videos?

Any help would be thanks.

Steve,

Right now no. As an alternative solution you may use the DropBox Media List Page and share the media files from your Computer .

In the Step 4 of this tutorial "4) Select a media file and upload it (see the next image). " You cannot delete uploaded files. Whats the reason?
